Can a receptionist pick up everyone, then transfer?

Absolutely, you can have a live receptionist pick up and either do warm transfers or cold transfers. Cold transfer, the receptionist takes the call, press a button and it goes off to the called person. Warm transfer is when the receptionist puts the caller on hold, calls the called person, announces who is calling then transfers the call. We also have a Smart Receptionist

Do you support analog door phones, paging, or a fax line?

Yes — with the right adapter. A door phone or paging horn can hang off an analog port so someone can buzz in or make an announcement. Fax is cleaner as a virtual fax to email than an old analog machine on a VoIP line. Tell us what you’ve got on the wall and we’ll match it.

You will not have any downtime when we do it with a certain process. We build your number in our cloud to make outbound calls. Your number is forward to your internal number with us. When the number ports it becomes your main number so there Is no outage along the way.

Yes. A cell number can move to a business line. We’ll need the account name, account number, and PIN exactly as the wireless carrier has them. Basically your existing phone bill.  Keep that cell active until the port finishes — turning it off early is how numbers get stuck. Once it lands, the same number can ring a desk phone, a cell, or both.

Can you port a fax number?

Yes. A fax number ports like any other number. After it moves, most people send and receive faxes by email instead of feeding paper into a machine. Keep the old fax line on until the port completes. If you still need a physical fax machine, say so and we’ll plan the analog side.

What if the losing carrier rejects the port?

Then we fix the paperwork and submit it again. Most rejects are a mismatched name, account number, PIN, or service address — not a dead number. You stay on the old carrier until it clears. We’ll tell you exactly what they flagged so you’re not guessing.

Yes, on multi year agreements, we will provide phones for your business, so you don’t have the expense. It comes down to a capital expense or an operational expense. Capital expense (CapEx) is money spent to buy or build an asset you will use for years. It hits the balance sheet first, then is depreciated. Examples: a phone system in the closet, a tower, a batch of desk phones you own, a $15,000 PBX.Operating expense (OpEx) is money spent to run the business this period. It hits the income statement as incurred. Examples: monthly hosted seats, SIP trunks, AI receptionist minutes, hotspot service, rent, payroll.

The same business number follows mobile, desktop, and desk phone. Cells can sit in a hunt group, share voicemail with parts or sales, record calls, text MMS from the work number, and use auto attendant and queues. If someone leaves the company, you keep the number. One bill for office and cellular.

Yes. CT Mobile Unlimited is $39 per line per month, with unlimited voice and text included. The 2GB, 10GB, and 20GB plans are there if you don’t need a full data bucket. Taxes and fees sit on top. MMS needs an active data plan on any of them. It’s a numbers game. Can you put everyone on a 2GB plan and add a mobile hotspot from ContinuousTouch to squeeze additional savings? We see it all the time. The “Big Carriers” want to keep you confused with their pricing schemes. Somehow businesses get wrapped up into unlimited internet just to, hopefully find out they need a fraction of what they are paying for.
